Designer’s Guild offers a wide collection of luxury items such as upholstery fabrics, furniture, bed & bath products, cushions, and carpets. The design studio which is ran by founder of the company Tricia Guild, is inspired by various different sources such as Eastern decorative art, Italian architecture, and classical pieces. Twice a year, a collection is launched which marries creativity and innovation in the highest possible quality.
Tricia Guild founded Designer’s Guild in 1970 while searching for decorative fabrics. By applying new colour to traditional Indian block print fabrics the first collection was born. In 1972, she opened her store on the King’s Road in London where she also sold ceramics and furniture. It wasn’t just any store however, but a space with a clear concept behind it. In 1986, Tricia’s brother Simon Jeffreys joined the company and became a partner. Over the years the collection has grown to include bed & bath ranges, carpets, wallpaper, furniture, fabrics, and paint. Tricia’s work has been internationally acclaimed and she has received multiple prestigious awards.
In addition to the Designer’s Guild collections, the company produces fabrics and wallpaper under the license William Yeoward and is the European and Middle-Eastern distributor for Ralph Lauren fabric and wallpaper. In 2011 the Designer’s Guild began preparations for the pursuit of a new license for the iconic international luxury brand Christian Lacroix.
